I love Teva Sandals. There emerging close-toed shoes are beginning to show promise. They are entering a market that has already been cornered. Durable, light, and comfortable shoes are a dime a dozen, but will also cost you a dime… and more. And Teva is no exception.

The Raith Event is a good shoe. They feel heavier than they ought to be for a “light trail shoe.” The traction was great in and out of water, and they remained comfortable. The ability to manage moisture (inflow and out) is only moderate. Sweat will evaporate just fine, which is no hard feat for today’s awesome shoes, but water from the outside will puddle at the sole and won’t leave until it is dumped out.

Teva hiking shoeAfter two trips, and not to strenuous ones at that, these puppies began to flatten, fray, and fall apart. After 40 miles of backcountry, they looked and felt like they had been used three times that distance. I returned them later to get more durable, and more protecting footwear. I’m sorry Teva… I still love your sandals!
